anticipato dal primo singolo, ‘World Like That’

A 21 anni dal loro debutto, Turin Brakes annunciano l’atteso ritorno con ‘Wide- Eyed Nowhere’, il nuovo album in arrivo il 16 settembre su etichetta Cooking Vinyl. Nono lavoro di studio, il disco, nonostante le turbolenze degli anni, mostra un atteggiamento ottimista della band: registrato al Twin Palms Studio durante la scorsa estate, ovvero nello studio del giardino di casa di Olly Knights, ‘Wide-Eyed Nowhere’ lascia che il tempo si dilati nella musica. “We surprised ourselves with what came out; a sweeter, groovier set of songs in no hurry to be anything but themselves….Friends would visit, kids would add a voice or two, bees would buzz and we’d get to sit in the South London sun while the music poured out of the speakers and floated across the lawn. Sometimes we decided it’s okay to just let it happen naturally, not to try too hard – just get out of the way let the songs take shape, and that maybe you don’t have to be in a bad place to make the deeper cuts.” afferma Olly.
Scritto prima dell’arrivo della pandemia, l’intero disco è avvolto da un senso di beatitudine e di ritrovata pace interiore, tra chitarre acustiche e voci calde.
L’annuncio di ‘Wide-Eyed Nowhere‘ è accompagnato dalla pubblicazione del primo singolo, ‘World Like That’ e da una serie di prime 43 date in Scozia ed Inghilterra.
