Rival Consoles annuncia ‘Overflow’, il nuovo album in arrivo il 3 dicembre, un paesaggio sonoro risonante ed esplorativo delle musiche originali composte per la produzione di danza contemporanea del rinomato coreografo Alexander Whitley.
Ad anticipare il nuovo album, la traccia ‘Monster’, un brano audace ed altamente ripetitivo che rispecchia la routine con cui l’uomo interagisce con la tecnologia e con i social media e di come essi, tra pubblicità, società di marketing e fazioni politiche, sfruttano i nostri dati per ottenere ricchezza, vantaggio politico e per seminare divisione. La lettura chiave per il progetto si è basata sull’opera filosofica contemporanea ‘Psychopolitics: Neoliberalism and New Technologies of Power’ di Byung-Chul Han.
‘Overflow’ nasce dalle musiche create da Rival Consoles per la produzione di danza contemporanea del coreografo Alexander Whitley. Durante la fase di scrittura e realizzazione dei brani, Ryan Lee West ha trascorso molto tempo con il corpo di ballo e la produzione, creando, perfezionando e modellando su misura le musiche. ‘Overflow’ è stato presentato per la prima volta al pubblico a maggio 2021 presso il teatro Sadler’s Wells a Londra ed è previsto un tour europeo nel 2022. Rival Consoles sarà invece impegnato in una serie di concerti da headliner in Inghilterra questo autunno e nel Nord America col nuovo anno. ‘Overflow‘ verrà pubblicato in formato digitale, cd e doppio vinile il 3 dicembre su etichetta Erased Tapes.
