Maestro dell’handpan ricosciuto in tutto il mondo, Manu Delago annuncia la pubblicazione di ‘Environ Me‘, il nuovo album in arrivo il 24 settembre (One Little Independent Records): tra percussioni ed elettronica, il disco è un’esplorazione dinamica e commovente che sfrutta il meglio dello spirito avventuroso dell’artista.
Ad anticipare il nuovo lavoro il brano ‘Interference’, che pone l’attenzione ai suoni industriali dei piloni dell’elettricità, costruendo magistralmente strati di ritmi con synth, tromboni, clarinetto ed altro ancora, una composizione avvincente e originale. “The track is symbolic for human interference on the planet. As visual and sonic symbols I chose an electricity pole and the metal framework of a mountain draglift next to it because they appear in the middle of nowhere, where one would expect pure nature. This symbol could be anything else that humans created like square crop fields, glowing cities, never-ending motorways or a cut-down rain forest. ‘Interference’ is also the opening track of my new album and in a way builds a transition from my last album ‘Circadian’. I even used some recordings at the start which were left over from those sessions. But then the track takes a more electronic direction, and especially at the end it’s a real outburst of energy with a drum solo and metallic sounds recorded on that metal framework” afferma Manu Delago.
Con una forte attenzione al rispetto dell’ambiente ed alla sostenibilità, Manu Delago ha terminato lo scorso mese una bellissima avventura da lui ideata: oltre 1.500 km in 35 giorni per ‘ReCycling Tour’, 18 concerti in Europa dove l’artista e la sua band si sono spostati da un paese all’altro attraverso speciali biciclette create appositamente in modo che, attraverso la pedalata, si ricaricassero i pannelli solari posti sulle bici, che hanno poi alimentato la strumentazione per i live, a dimostrazione che la sostenibilità è possibile.
Negli anni Manu Delago ha suonato in prestigiose venue in oltre 50 paesi in tutto il m ondo, sia con il suo progetto che in tour con artisti del calibro di Bjork ed Olafur Arnalds, oltre che collaborare con la London Symphony Orchestra.
