L’artista e producer s a r a s a r a, che da sempre ama spingersi oltre gli schemi, annuncia il secondo album in studio Orgone (5 luglio, One Little Indian – Audioglobe), che segue il debutto di successo Amor Fati – un disco sperimentale, che prende elementi di elettronica industriale, trip – hop. R’nB e breakbeat. Orgone è anch’esso peculiare a suo modo: è cantato prevalentemente in Francese e tratta argomenti come il pensiero del suicidio, l’esistenzialismo e la meditazione. L’artista ha attraversato la Manica all’inizio dello scorso anno e da Parigi si è trasferita a Margate, nel Kent (UK), dove ha scritto il disco, che vede la collaborazione, su alcune tracce, di Peter Doherty (The Libertines). Sperimentale, distintivo, e inconfondibilmente nello stile di s a r a s a r a, l’album si muove agilmente fra sensazioni e tessuti sonori a vari livelli, con una caratterizzante tenacia nel voler rimanere fedele a se stesso pur evitando di intraprendere un sentiero fin troppo battuto. Ego Trip is about my first experience of Samadhi or enlightenment after a long period of meditation. For a micro second, I experienced my consciousness coming out of my body. It was my first meeting with God. It is a really beautiful experience that triggered my spiritual nature.
Surrender talks about the power of letting go off what you have no power over. Often times and subconsciously, we fight so hard outer circumstances or people even though we have absolutely no control over them. It’s a lesson I had to learn the hard way.
Into Me See is about vulnerability and being seen. It takes a lot of courage to let yourself be vulnerable. It is very uncomfortable and there’s obviously a risk of being rejected and hurt. Also, it requires pure honesty with yourself, This is a very difficult exercise because the only way to reach that point is to transcend your Ego. This is also the only way to feel free.
Tinkertoy I’m not sure I can explain what happened with this song. Peter and I were talking about doing something together for a while. One evening, he knocked on my studio’s door, we had a lovely time and did this, then he said I was “a Siren” and he ran away.
Quand même is a song about taking a step back and understanding the big picture.

Tidy up is one of the most spontaneous song I have ever written. I was hanging out with Peter, in his little studio, in Margate Old town during the summer.
We were debating about the benefits of living in the present moment, then he gave me a typewriter and told me to write a song instead of trying to “ control everything”. I got offended then I transcended my Ego and admitted that he had a point, and I wrote this song, lyrics and music.

Je te promets is a cover of Johnny Halliday. I felt very sad when he passed last year. I have a lot of good memories of his music with my father. He took me to one of his concert in Paris, in front of the Eiffel tower, I was maybe 6 or 7, it was my first concert ever. I was on my father’s shoulders and I remember him arriving on stage with in an helicopter or something crazy like that and singing alongside a choir of 200 people behind him. It is still the most impressive show I’ve seen to this day. I’ve always like this particular song because it is very poetic.
Anticorps is a song about living in the present moment, for it is the only thing that exists. It is very scary, for me, not to know where i’m going. It takes me a lot of effort to be comfortable in the unknown, but i’m practicing a lot and I’m getting better at it.
Safeword is a song about not being afraid of being yourself and say how you truly feel. It’s a song about boundaries and how we express them.
It’s okay to feel how you feel, your feelings are always valid, whatever they might be, there is no exception. Everyone that would tell you otherwise is not worth your energy.
